Halloween Treat Boxes

October 31. 2016

These are the treat boxes my children made for their classmates. Each box had a Halloween tempory tattoo, the skeleton sunglasses, and a very small piece of candy in it.

Details

Size:  Pillow boxes made from 6 x 6 patterned paper.

Extra Details:  I die cut the stitched rectangles from white cardstock. I stamped the sentiments and images on each rectangle. Using water color pencils I add some color to the edges of each rectangle. Once dry, the children signed their names.

I cut some 12 x 12 patterned paper into 6 x 6 squares. I used the We R Memory Keepers pillow box punch board to create the pillow boxes. I stuffed all the goodies inside and attached the rectangles to the outside. The glasses wouldn’t fit, so I just tucked the arms into the boxes.

Spotlight Cupcakes

May 31, 2015

When I updated my blog in February 2016, I lost all the posting I had already done. I am doing my best to put the posts back up but I do not remember all the details for each card.  Unfortunately, the details for this project may be a bit scarce.

I just bought some very cheap water color pencils and wanted to play with them. I had also recently seen a video about spot light coloring, so I figured that would be a good technique to play with the water colored pencils.

Details

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I started with a panel of water color paper. I stamped an all over pattern using cupcakes, cherries, and hearts. I used Memento Tuxedo Black ink, which did smudge when I added water. I lightly traced a circle using a jar lid. I added the water color pencil and used a water brush to blend it out.

I kept the color to the inside of the circle. I used the black water colored pencil to add a bit of color and some shadows to the rest of the images.

Once dry, I adhered the water color panel to a black card base. I also added a sentiment banner. I inked the edges of the banner to help it stand out.
