Christmas Tags 3.16

December 3, 2017

It’s the time of year for Christmas tags! I used two different Christmas tree stamps for these tags. The stamps are from different companies, but have similar feels. I love the way they coordinate with each other.

Extra Details: I began by cutting a full sheet of watercolor paper into six rectangles. I rounded the corners with a corner rounder. I stamped and clear embossed the trees and sentiments on each tag. I used Crayola Fine Line Markers and a water brush to add color to everything.

Lastly, I punched a hole in each tag and added some twine.

Christmas Tags 3.15

November 24, 2017

I watched Nichol Spor create her beautiful tags on Lawn Fawn’s YouTube Channel and I knew I wanted to give that idea a try. I used all the sizes of the Stitched Ornaments dies and I used more traditional Christmas colors than Nichol did. In the end I made 72 tags. I love the way they turned out.

Extra Details:  I began with a full sheet of card stock in six colors; red, Kelly green, apple green, grey, glitter red and glitter green. I cut four of each size of ornament from each color. I also die cut a merry word from each color and a number of snowflakes, hearts and the line of diamonds.

I also die cut the backers for each tag from white card stock and the ornament toppers from silver glitter card stock. Then I spend a lot of time gluing everything together. It was fun to play with all of the different elements to create ornaments that went together but didn’t all match.

For the finishing details, I used Glossy Accents on the scripty merrys. I used fabric puffy paints in clear glitter, silver glitter and red to add dimensional dots to the ornaments. I think that the puffy paints worked well.

I am a red and green Holiday Tag kick lately. I made these tags using Distress Inks and metallic embossing powders

Details

Extra Details: I began these cards by water coloring half sheets of water color paper with Distress Inks. I did one half sheet with red inks and the other with greens. Once the inks were dry, I die cut them with a stitched circle die. I was able to get six circles from each half sheet.

I used Versa Mark ink, gold and silver embossing powder to add the sentiments to each circle. I added the red berries with some puffy paint. I think it added some fun dimension.

While the puffy paint was drying, I die cut some white scalloped circles to back each water colored circle with. I adhered the two circles together; hole punched a hole, and added some ribbon.

Christmas Tags 3.13

November 24, 2017

I just love creating Christmas Tags. They are small, usually easy to make multiples of, and allow to experiment with a lot of different ideas. Here are a few more tags I made this season.

Details

Size:  3.5 x 2.75 inches when folded

Extra Details:  I began these tags with some pre-embossed paper I found at my local big box craft store. The paper comes in 5.5 x 7.5 sheets. I cut the paper in half and folded it into a match book. I folded about 1 inch at the bottom and about 3.25 inches from the top.

Next, I created the white liners for the inside of the tags. I stamped the fawn image and the sentiment in a dark grey ink. I adhered the liners to the inside of the tags.

I stamped the larger deer and antlers on some grey card stock using the same dark grey ink. I fussy cut them out leaving a small border. I also added some Wink of Stella Clear Glitter pen to the deer’s body. I added some clear glitter glue to the strips of the embossed paper for adder glitter.

I used a hole punch and white ribbon on the top of the tags. Lastly, I adhered a small strip of white paper to the bottom edge of the top flap and the larger deer.

This is the first set of tags I made with Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Bokeh stamp set. The results were more subtle than I had hoped for. In the end, I really like the design, though.

Details

Extra Details: I began these tags with a half sheet of white card stock. I used Lucky Clover and Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink to add color to the paper. I started with the Lucky Clover at the bottom of the paper and added the Cracked Pistachio to the top. Using a Yeti white pigment ink by Lawn Fawn, I added some solid circles over all of the inking. I used Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide Ink to add the circle outlines.

Once all of the ink was dry, I die cut the tag shapes. I added the corner stamps with the same white pigment ink to the top right corner and lower left corner.

After the corners had dried, I white heat embossed the sentiment and string of lights. I added some iridescent string and a silver bead to finish off each tag.

I love Lawn Fawn’s Let’s Bokeh stamp set. I am having so much fun finding new and different ways to use it. Here is another set of Christmas tags I made.

Details

Extra Details: I began these tags with a half sheet of white card stock. I used the large solid circles to create a pattern with lots of aqua and grey inks. I also added some snowflakes in the circles. I used silver heat embossing for one of the snowflakes for some added shine. I love this color combination.

Then, I die cut the paper into tags. I was able to get five tags from the half sheet of cardstock. While my die cut machine was out, I also die cut some snowflakes from the Winter Tiny Tags. I used Mermaid ink to color the snowflake tags. I stamped the sentiment in a grey ink.

Lastly, I tied the small snowflake to the larger stamped tag with some white twine.

Christmas Tags 3.8: Postcard Tags

November 23, 2017

I love making scenes with all of the Lawn Fawn stamps that I own. For Christmas this year, I created a few postcard tags with holiday scenes on the front. I used a lot of different stamp sets and coloring mediums. I love the way they all turned out.

November 13, 2017

I made a welcome banner for my classroom using the Stitched Ornament dies and some glitter paper. I couldn’t bear to throw out the scraps of the glitter paper, so I turned them into spinner tags.

023

Details

Size:  4.25 by 2.75 inches

Extra Details:  I began by cutting the glitter paper into rectangles. I die cut each glitter rectangle with a stitched ornament die. I used the positive piece for another project and keep the negative pieces for these tags. I created white rectangles with die cuts in the exact same way.

While I had my die cut machine out, I die cut some Tiny Tags from four color of card stock that coordinated with the glitter papers. I also cut the ornament toppers from some silver glitter card stock.

I stamped the sentiments on the Tiny Tags.  I adhered two Tiny Tags around a piece of white thread. I layered the thread between the layers of glitter paper and white card stock.

For added stability, I folded a small strip of colored card stock over the top and bottom of the tags. Lastly, I punched a hole and added some black twine.
