January 16, 2017

My daughter wanted to send invitations to her grandparents to invite to her birthday luncheon. Here are the invitations she designed and helped to make.

Details

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  We started with the card bases. I scored and folded each pink card base 2 and 1/8t inches from the sides. Next, we die cut the heart from the front panels. It took two passes to cut each heart. Lastly, we dry embossed the front panels with a Darice embossing folder.

I die cut stitched rectangles from some white card stock for the inside of each card. We stamped the images and then my daughter colored them in using Crayola Markers and gel pens. Once she was done coloring I adhered each white panel inside the pink card bases.

Then, we made the belly bands to help keep the cards closed in the envelopes. I cut strips of black card stock and white heat embossed the sentiment. Lastly, I carefully centered and folded the strip around the card. I used some tape runner to adhere the strip to itself in the back.

I plan on printing the information for the luncheon on some pink card stock and die cutting it out to add to the bottom of each invitation.

Pumpkin Thank Yous

November 6, 2016

These are the thank you cards from my son’s birthday. I needed to make something that fast and easy to make.

Size:  Horizontal top fold A2 cards

Extra Details:  I started by cutting some strips of patterned paper. The paper is from a Die Cuts With a View Halloween paper pack. I cut the strips to be 2.5” x 5.5”. I added some stitching detail to the edges with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders Dies.

I also cut a strip of black card stock for each card. This strip of was 3” x 5.5”. I dry embossed these strips with a dotted embossing folder by Darice. I layered the patterned paper strip on the top of the black strip. Next, I adhered the strips to the white card bases.

I made the sentiment strips next. I stamped the Thanks in black ink. I used three colors of Distress Inks to add color to my sentiment banners. I cut in a fish tail end on each banner and attached them to the cards. As a finishing touch I colored parts of the letters in with a white gel pen.

Halloween Treat Boxes

October 31. 2016

These are the treat boxes my children made for their classmates. Each box had a Halloween tempory tattoo, the skeleton sunglasses, and a very small piece of candy in it.

Details

Size:  Pillow boxes made from 6 x 6 patterned paper.

Extra Details:  I die cut the stitched rectangles from white cardstock. I stamped the sentiments and images on each rectangle. Using water color pencils I add some color to the edges of each rectangle. Once dry, the children signed their names.

I cut some 12 x 12 patterned paper into 6 x 6 squares. I used the We R Memory Keepers pillow box punch board to create the pillow boxes. I stuffed all the goodies inside and attached the rectangles to the outside. The glasses wouldn’t fit, so I just tucked the arms into the boxes.

Pumpkin Party Invite

October 4, 2016

My son’s birthday is at the end of this month, which means it is time to party plan! This year, he wants a Halloween party with lots of pumpkins and Jack o’ Lanterns. Here is the invitation that will be mailed out this week.

Details

Size:  Flip Fold Card; closed dimensions are 4.25” wide and 5” tall (included the circle die cut)

Extra Details:  I found a tutorial for this type of card on Christi Beck’s YouTube channel, called Stamp In Texas. Following her directions I created the card base and die cut a circle from the top right section of the card. I also cut a 4” x 4” white panel, a smaller black circle, a small white circle, and a 4” x 6” white panel.

I heat embossed “You’re Invited” with white embossing powder on the top flap. I added some orange glitter tape under the embossing and folded the extra over the edge.

Using masking, I created a lineup of pumpkins on the bottom of the square white panel. I added some Jack o’ Lantern faces with a thin black Sharpie. I stamped the ghost so he could hide under the top flap. I used colored pencils to add color to the scene. Then, I adhered the scene panel to the card base.

I layered the white circle on the black circle and stamped the Boo speech bubble. I added some colored pencil to the white circle as well. Then I adhered the circle to the scene panel where it pops out through circle die cut.

I added the party information and some stamping to the 4”x 6” panel and adhered it to the inside of the card. I love the way this invitation turned out.

Pizza Party Cupcakes

January 27, 2016

When I updated my blog in February 2016, I lost all the posting I had already done. I am doing my best to put the posts back up but I do not remember all the details for each card.  Unfortunately, the details for this project may be a bit scarce.

My daughter is having a “Make Your Own Pizza” Party at our local pizzeria for her birthday. Each child will get to make and eat their own pizza while at the party. But what party is complete without cake? So I made “pizza” cupcakes. They are chocolate cupcakes topped with red butter cream frosting. I also piped on a “crust” of brown butter cream frosting. The children at the party added their own white chocolate “cheese” and mini M&M “toppings” to their “pizza” cupcakes.

Pizza Party Aprons

January 27, 2016

When I updated my blog in February 2016, I lost all the posting I had already done. I am doing my best to put the posts back up but I do not remember all the details for each card.  Unfortunately, the details for this project may be a bit scarce.

These are the party favors for my daughter’s pizza birthday party. I made each child an apron to wear while they were making their pizza. My daughter picked out two fabrics that coornidated nicely. These fabrics helped to decide the colors for the party.

Instead of a birthday crown, I made the birthday girl a baker’s hat.

Extra Details:  I cut each panel from a variety of colored cardstock. Each panel was dry embossed with a Darice star embossing folder. All of the letters were cut out of black cardstock on my Cricut machine. After adhering each letter to a panel, I added a pizza image to keep with the theme. My daughter colored all the pizzas using colored pencils.

Details

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I had a lot of odd shaped pieces of card stock left over from making the pillow boxes for the favors and other party decorations that I wanted to use. The actual card base is 4.5 x 5”. I added the dry embossed colored card stock to bottom edge to bring it to a standard A2 size card. I used a Darice Stars embossing folder on the colored pieces. I added a white panel to the front of the card with the stamped sentiment and large pizza. There is also a white panel on the inside that my daughter used to write her thank you message on. Lastly, we added a slice of pizza to the card front with some foam squares.

I actually colored this card with my kiddos’ Crayola markers. My daughter colored some of the Thank You cards but not this one.

Pizza Party Game

January 27, 2016

When I updated my blog in February 2016, I lost all the posting I had already done. I am doing my best to put the posts back up but I do not remember all the details for each card.  Unfortunately, the details for this project may be a bit scarce.

My daughter is having a “Make Your Own Pizza” Party at our local pizzeria for her birthday. Each child will get to make and eat their own pizza while at the party. We needed something for the kids to do while waiting for the pizza’s to cook. I made a Pin the Topping on the Pizza Game.

26256906270_9c9f184e93_o

The kids and I drew a large circle on some poster board, added the crust line and colored the whole thing with crayons. It kept the kiddos busy for quite a while. Lastly, I had the whole thing laminated so that we could easily remove the “toppings.”

The “toppings” were cut from colored cardstock using Lawn Fawn’s Pizza My Heart and Tag You’re It Dies. I only made olives and pepperoni because they were the easiest and the birthday girl’s favorites. I used masking tape to have the toppings stick to the big pizza.

I also made an eye mask with a scrap of the apron material and some elastic.

Hope you enjoyed.
