I die cut the speech bubbles from some glitter paper, holographic paper, and colored card stock. On the specialty papers, I die cut the sentiments as well.  I stamped sentiments on the card stock speech bubbles in black ink.

Lastly, I adhered the speech bubbles to the front of the card. I really like the way this card turned out.

Hip Hands Birthday

April 21, 2018

I needed a card for a 10 year old girl who loves colors and all thing fashion.  This is the card I came up with.  I love the bright colors and shiny, sparkly nails.

Extra Details: I began this card by covering a white card base with some Lawn Fawn’s Really Rainbow paper. This paper inspired by color choices.

I die cut a stitched rectangle from some white card stock. I also die cut the numbers 1 and 0 from the rainbow paper. I added the outline images to the number die cuts.

I stamped the hands on opposite corners using Tattered Rose Distress Ink as it was ink that was closest to the skin color I needed. I used a variety of colored ink to fill I the nails. I added some pattern to the nails with a Sharpie Pen.

I adhered the stamped panel to the card base with foam tape. I glued the numbers down flat to the card.

I stamped and embossed the rest of the sentiment on black card stock. I trimmed them down to little strips and used foam tape to adhere them to the card.

I added a left over strip of patterned paper and another sentiment to the inside of the card.

Lastly, I added Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents to the nails and numbers.

Church Snow Globe Shaker

April 15, 2018

I need a card for a baptism and a card for a first communion within the next few weeks. I struggled with these cards; I do not own any stamps that I thought really went well with the events. So I got creative. I like the way the cards turned out. I made two of the same card. Only one is pictured in this post.

Size:  Vertical top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card by die cutting a panel of white card stock and dry embossing it with a Darice embossing folder.

I stamped the images on a separate panel of white card stock and using Prismacolor pencils to color everything in. Then, I pulled out the die cutting machine again. I die cut the snow globe that I stamped. I used light blue card stock for the back of the snow globe. Light green stock was used for the grassy hill. I also die cut some clear plastic and fun foam so I could turn my snow globe into a shaker card. Everything else, I fussy cut out.

I adhered everything together using double sided tape. I add some beads and sequins to the snow globe before I adhered the light blue panel. I used pink sequins because both cards are for little girls.

Birthday Bookmarks

April 9, 2018

I just got the new Lawn Fawn bookmark stamp set called Slow Down and Enjoy. I couldn’t wait to make some bookmarks with it. I also needed four birthday cards soon. So I combined the two and created four cards with removable bookmarks.

Extra Details:  I made four cards but gave one away before I got the pictures taken. Each card is same design; I just switched papers and animals around.

I began these cards by stamping and coloring the animals, hats, gifts, and present images. I used Prismacolor Pencils to color everything in. I matched the colors of the accessories to the colors in the patterned papers. I used matching dies to cut the animals, gifts, and hats out. I fussy cut the cupcakes out leaving a small white border to match the die cuts.

While I had my die cut machine out, I also die cut two of each bookmark from one piece of pattern paper. I adhered the two bookmarks together so that the pattern on the front and back matched. I also cut the bookmarks from some white card stock. I stamped a sentiment on each white bookmark and trimmed it on the stitched lines with my scissors. I adhered the white panel to the front of each bookmark. I added the animal fronts and backs as well. I added a birthday hat to each animal for some color and fun.

Once the bookmarks were made, I began working on the cards. Using a stitched rectangle die, I cut two dark blue panels and two pink panels. I white heat embossed a frame and sentiment on each panel. I fussy cut out the center of each frame to create an opening.  I added a small rectangle of patterned paper to each of the four white card bases. I adhered the panels of to the card bases with foam tape. I made sure to line the opening of the frame up with the pattered paper on the card base. Now the bookmarks can slide in and out of the frame opening.

For the inside of the cards, I added a strip of the same pattern paper. I adhered three animals head along the strip of pattern paper. I added some accessories to each animal. I stamped the sentiment in six colors of ink that matched the patterned papers. I added the back of the animals to the back of the card.

To finish the cards, I added some twine to the bookmarks and a small star shape tag that tells the recipient that there is a bookmark.

Poinsettia Frame

January 25, 2018

This is another card design for Christmas 2018. I loved watching all the YouTube videos featuring poinsettia stamps. I don’t any, so I stretched the stamps I did have.

Extra Details:  I began this card with a 4.25 x 5.5 inch panel of kraft paper. I stamped the paper with a wood grain stamp and some brown ink. I die cut a rectangle from the middle of the panel.

Using the frame as a guide, I stamped the sentiment in Versa Mark ink and used gold embossing powder on it. Once I finished the heat embossing, I adhere the frame to the card base with foam tape.

I stamped the flowers and leaves on some white card stock. I used a color layering set and two shades of green and red inks. To add the gold centers to the flowers, I used an embossing pen and the same gold embossing powder. Once the florals were dry, I fussy cut everything out. I used glue dots to adhere the flowers to the card.

I die cut a tag shape from some white card stock. I added the sentiment to the white tag using the same darker grey ink and some red ink.

I die cut the mittens from red card stock. I added some detail with the white and grey inks. As a finishing touch, I added a small white heart that I die cut.

I used some red and white twine to add a bow to the top of the tag. I adhered the tails of the bow to the mittens using regular scotch tape. I adhered one bow flat to the tag and the other with some foam tape.

Lastly, I added the tag to the grey panel and adhered everything to a white card base.

Red Water Color Card Set

January 17, 2018

This is a set of cards I made as a Christmas gift. The sentiment is actually the negative piece left over for the Purple Water Color Card Set.

Extra Details:  I began these cards by created some card bases from water color paper. I used an acrylic block and some pink and red Distress Inks to create the backgrounds. I used the ink smooshing techniques. I used a large block which is why the ink smooshing isn’t very consistent from card to card.

The sentiments are the negative die cuts from a previous project. Once the ink was dry, I was able to adhere the white sentiment rectangles onto the card base.

Extra Details:  I began this card by cutting the kraft card stock included in the kit into four 4.25 by 5.5 inch panels. I decided to create the four panels and not card bases so that I could get more use from the cardstock in the kit.

I took one panel and scored it every ¾ of an inch. I adhered strips of the patterned paper in-between the score line.

I used one of the cut aparts form the patterned paper pack for the sentiment. I matted it on another piece of patterned paper and adhered it with some foam tape.

I adhered the kraft panel to a white card base and the card was complete.

Extra Details:  I began this card by cutting two 4.25 x 5.5 inch panels from some water color paper. One panel is for the front of the card; the other is for the inside.

I used a stitched hillside border to cut the front panel. From the top part of the panel, I also die cut some stitched circles. I used versa mark ink and white embossing powder to add stars or music notes. I used Distress Inks as water colors to create my night sky. The embossed resist worked beautifully.  I added a light blue was to the bottom of the panel for interest. Once dry, I adhered all of the pieces to a white card base.

For the inside panel, I used the Ellen Hudson Zipper Panel Die to create the hidden chamber. I adhered this panel to the inside of the card base.

On a scrap of water color paper, I stamped the penguins in Versa Fine ink and clear embossed them. I used the same Distress Inks to water color them in. Once dry, I fussy cut everything out leaving a small white border. I adhered the penguins to my card using liquid glue. I used a mini action wobble on the penguin playing the guitar.

Lastly, I added the sentiments and a few music notes in black ink.
