Christmas Tags 3.16

December 3, 2017

It’s the time of year for Christmas tags! I used two different Christmas tree stamps for these tags. The stamps are from different companies, but have similar feels. I love the way they coordinate with each other.

Extra Details: I began by cutting a full sheet of watercolor paper into six rectangles. I rounded the corners with a corner rounder. I stamped and clear embossed the trees and sentiments on each tag. I used Crayola Fine Line Markers and a water brush to add color to everything.

Lastly, I punched a hole in each tag and added some twine.

Daisy Thanks

November 24, 2017

My November 2017 Simon Says Stamp Monthly Card Kit was lost in the mail for almost three weeks. Luckily, it still arrived. This is the first card I made with it.

Details

Size:  Horizontal side fold A2 card

Extra Details: This card was super simple to put together. I covered a white card base with some of the patterned paper. I adhered one of the manufacturing strips across the middle of the card. I cut the alpha paper apart so I could create the work “Thanks.” I used foam tape to pop the letter up off the card front and made sure to cover the hole in the manufacturing stip. That was it and the card was finished.

Paper: Pebbles Heart of Home Collection

Hope you enjoyed the card!

I die cut three stitched circles from white card stock and stamped the hearts and sentiments on each circle. My daughter colored the hearts in using Crayola markers. When she was finished, she added some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to each heart.

We adhered each circle with an action wobble. Lastly, we added some glitter pen detail along the edges of the patterned paper.

You are Amazing

October 8, 2017

World Card Making Day was so much fun. I watched a ton of inspirational videos on YouTube and created a number of cards also. I made this card using the Simon Says Stamp October 2017 Monthly Card Kit. This is the only card I made with the papers today; I got distracted by the stamp set and never looked back.

Details

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details: I began this card by cutting some of the patterned paper in the kit. I cut this panel to 4 x 5.25 inches. I adhered it to a dark blue card base.

I cut a small rectangle from another pattern paper and white heat embossed the sentiment. I adhered the sentiment panel to the card using foam tape. I keep this card simple because the patterned paper adds all the interest and shine that it needs.

Brushstroke and Ink Cube Pack Card Set

October 8, 2017

World Card Making Day was so much fun. I watched a ton of inspirational videos on YouTube and created a number of cards also. I also watched Nina-Marie Trapani’s video called Brushstroke Pattern Stamping Featuring Simon Says Stamp Products. I have the Brushstroke Messages stamp set and couldn’t wait to try out some of the ideas Nina-Maria demonstrated. I also just got some of the Lawn Fawn Mini Ink Cube Sets in the mail and wanted to play with those. In the end, I made 8 cards.

025

Card One using Hero Arts Color Layering Rooster Ink set. There was some ink transfer when I switched from the red ink to the yellow ink, but I really like the orangey color that it created.

024

Card two using Lawn Fawn’s Tropical Island Ink Cube Pack. I trimmed the sides of the panel down to allow the grey card base to show on each side.

023

Card Three using Lawn Fawn’s Candy Story Ink Cube Pack. I die cut the bottom edge of the white panel with a stitched cloud border die for interest.

022

Card Four using Lawn Fawn’s Gazebo Ink Cube Pack. I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die before adhering it to a grey card base.

021

Card Five using Simon Says Stamp’s Fresh Fruit Hybrid Ink Pad Cube set. I die cut this panel with a cross stitched rectangle die at an angle. I also added a cute critter that I found in my stash.

020

Card Six using lawn Fawn’s Pumpkin Patch Ink Cube Pack. I trimmed the panel down and adhered it to a kraft card base.

019

Card Seven using Lawn Fawn’s Tea Party Ink Cube Pack. I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle die. I added two smaller layers with some foam tape. I stamped the green ink on the larger layer to create matching paper. Lastly, I added a few sequins for some sparkle.

018

Card Eight using Lawn Fawn’s Ice Cream Parlor Ink Cube Pack. I added the small dots for some interest.

Brushstroke Birthday

October 1, 2017

This card was inspired by the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Heavy Metal. I had just received the SSS October Card Kit and the new Steel Navy embossing powder. It is such a cool embossing powder; it appears to be a dark metallic blue.

010

Details

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card by stamping and heat embossing the sentiment on the lower part of the card base. I used the navy embossing powder for the sentiment. I added a heart with silver embossing powder. I added stripes to the rest of the card using the same embossing powders and three shades of aqua inks. It was a very simple card to create; however, I love the results.

Flower Shaker Tag Card

September 24, 2017

I wanted to play with the Simon Says Stamp September Card Kit today. I love the shaker tags that were included in the kit. I received a flower shaped tag instead of a balloon in my kit.

Details

Size:  Horizontal top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card with the flower tag. I ink blended some Distress Inks on the tag. I flicked some water on the inks to create some fun water drops. I also added a light pink Distress Ink to the inside of the tag. I filled the shaker pocket with some beads and sequins from my stash. Then I glued the tag closed. I added some iridescent twine to the top of the tag.

Next, I created a light pink card base. I wanted to use some of the patterned paper included in the kit. I found a design that I liked and trimmed it to an inch and a half. I added some thin strips purple paper to the edges to help the paper stand out against the pink card base. I adhered the strips to the card base.

I adhered the shaker tag to the card base. Then, I stamped the sentiment in purple ink. As a finishing touch, I added some stars and hearts that I die cut from some silver glitter paper and holographic paper.

Striped Birthday Card

Resist Birthday Cards

September 24, 2017

My husband’s best friends’ birthday was last week. My kiddos made him some birthday cards. They had such a good time playing with water coloring and resists.

Orange Card

Details

Size:  Vertical side fold and a Horizontal top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  We began these cards with panels of water color paper that I had die cut with a stitched rectangle die. Each kiddo decided on their card design and I used Versa Mark and white heat embossing powder to create the designs.

We used Distress Ink as water colors. I taped the panels down first. Then the kiddos painted on some clear clean water on their panels and began dropping in colors. We let the first layers of color dry while we had dinner. Then we added a second layer of color. After the second layer was dry, we added some splatters of ink.

Once the splatters were dry, we adhered each panel to a coordinating card base with foam tape. The kiddos were so please with their creations.
