December 31, 2016
I don’t know how it happened or how I survived, but I did. I have made it through another December. The kiddos had a great holiday season with visits to Santa, plays, gatherings with family and friends, baking sessions, and many gifts to open. My poor blog has been much neglected this month. I am taking this last day of 2016 to post everything I made in December. The details may be scarce but at least there are pictures.
This year for Christmas, my family gave my grandmother card sets. This is first set I made. I wanted to keep them simple because I knew I would be making multiples of each design. I also kept the ease of mailing in mind while designing these cards.
All four cards in set one
The vertical cards
The horizontal cards
Size: A2 card
Extra Details: I wanted each card to be slightly different than the others. To accomplish this, I used different ink colors, orientations, images, and layouts. Even with all of the differences, I tried to keep the sets looking like they belonged together.
I dry embossed the snowflakes into each background first. I added some ink blending using Distress Inks. I stamped, colored, and fussy cut out the penguins. I used colored pencils that were a close match to the colors of Distress Inks to make the cards feel like part of a set. I white heat embossed the sentiments on some dark grey cardstock. Lastly, I adhered all of the pieces together.
Stamps Used: Lawn Fawn’s Snow Cool, Mermaid For You
Ink: Versa Mark
Simon Says Stamp ink in Slate
Hope you enjoyed the card
