St. Patrick’s Day is coming up soon, so I have clovers on the brain. I made my own background paper on a 12 x 9 sheet of paper. I cut that paper down to create six cards.
Size: Vertical side fold A2 cards
Extra Details: I started with a full sheet of water color paper. I used various sizes of heart stamps to create clovers. I used my Distress Inks to stamp the hearts and a water brush to even the color out a bit. I added some outline hearts and the one clover stamp I own for variation. I also evened out the color with a water brush. I added some splatters of green and orange inks. I added some orange ink to the back ground of half of the panel.
Once everything was dry, I cut the sheet into 6 panels that were 3 x 5.5 inches. I created six black card bases. I adhered the water color backgrounds to each of the card bases. I varied the placement of the panels for interest. I added orange glitter tape to the edges of the panels that didn’t have an orange background.
I stamped and water colored the tops hats with the same Distress Inks. I fussy cut out the hats once they were dry.
Next, I worked on the sentiments. I stamped and white heat embossed the three different styles of Happy on green glitter cardstock, orange glitter cardstock, and white water color paper. I used the matching dies to cut out the Happy’s. I added Distress ink to the white Happy’s. I white heat embossed the rest of the sentiments on black card stock and die cut it with a banner shaped die.
I adhered the sentiment pieces and top hats to the cards and the cards were done.
