Silhouettes and Distress Inks

April 16, 2017

Happy Easter! The bunny has arrived and delivered baskets full of goodies, so now I have a little time before all the visiting begins. I decided to spend it updating my blog.

I made this card set last night. I love bright colors with black silhouettes. Originally, I was just going to make one card with the cattails, but when I began looking through my stamps I found a bunch more images I wanted to use. In the end, I made 8 cards.

Details

Size:  Horizontal top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I started by stamping the sentiments on the card bases. I used four of the freebie stamps Lawn Fawn sends when you order from them. I also added a dotted line on either side of each sentiment. Using washi tape, I masked off the dotted lines and added the black images. I used clear embossing powder on all of the stamping. I wanted everything to have a shiny finish.

Once the embossing powder was cool, I masked off the bottom part of my card again and began ink blending. I had fun playing with different color combinations for each card.

I did use a second mask for Cattail Card 1. I liked the effect, but it was more work that the other cards.

Lastly, I added some flicks of water to add more interest to my backgrounds. I dried them with a paper towel and the cards were finished.

Stamps Used: Lawn Fawn’s Mom + Me, Dad + Me, Love You S’More, Happy Harvest, Penelope’s Blossoms, and Wish You Were here

Also the mini freebies from Lawn Fawn
