Owl Thank Yous

July 14, 2017

Summer camp fast approaches. This year there are 16 high school volunteers that need to be thanked at the end of the week. This is the card design I settled on. In the end, I made 18 cards with the same design. I used the owls on the front because that is the shape of the volunteer name tags. The fish on the inside are a reference to topic that we are learning about during the week.

Size:  Horizontal top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began with a dark brown card base. Using white pigment ink, I stamp a strip of woodgrain pattern on each card front. I also added my website to the back of the card with the same ink.

While the card bases were drying, I cut some water color paper into 1.5 by 5.5 inch strips. I stamped the owl and Thanks on the strips using black ink.

Next, I stamped the liners for the inside of the cards. I used black ink for the sentiment and grey ink for the fish.

I used Crayola Fine Line Markers to water color the owls and Thanks. I just traced the area I wanted to color and used a water brush to move the color around. Once the strips were dry, I adhered them to the card bases.

Lastly, I adhered the liners to the inside of the cards.

Stamps Used: Lawn Fawn’s Critters in Costume, A Good Apple, Fintastic Friends, Dad + Me, and Woodgrain Backdrops
