Sprinkled With Love Birthday

September 5, 2016

I just love getting new stamps to play with. I couldn’t wait to the play with the Sprinkled with Joy stamp set when it arrived in the mail. I made this card for my mother’s birthday. She enjoys backing as much as I enjoy card making.

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I started by stamping and water coloring all of the images.  I used my Distress Inks as water colors. Once the images were dry, I fussy cut them out.

I dry embossed my stitched circle dies on a white panel. This was the first time I have tried this technique. I also do not own an embossing mat, so I made do with fun foam. The impression is not all that great, but it was still fun to try. I ink blended some Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink on the embossed area to help it stand out.

Next, I began adding my images. I adhered most of them flat to the card base. I added some colorful sprinkles to help add to the scene. I popped the two cookie cutters up on foam dots. Lastly, I added the sentiment.

I created a kraft card base and added some stamping to the edges. I adhered the white panel to the front of the card base and was done.
