Happy Trails

April 21, 2018

A friend of mine requested an anniversary card for her parents. The parents enjoy traveling together, mostly by car. This is the card I created for her,

Size:  Horizontal top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card by creating my frame. I used the stitched rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn’s Scalloped Box Card Pop Up. I cute them from two panels of white card stock and two panels of Kraft card stock. I stamped one layer of the Kraft card stock with Versa Mark ink and a wood grain backdrop. I glued all of the frames together and set them aside to dry.

I used the stitched rectangles from one of the white panels to stamp my scenes on.  Anything that needed to be colored in, I used Prismacolor pencils on. Using my frame as a guide, I adhered the panels to a white card base. I also adhered the frames.

While everything was drying, I stamped the cars and banner on a separate piece of white card stock. Again, I used Prismacolor pencils to color them in. I fussy cut them out right on the black line. I painted the edges black to hide any cutting errors. I added the cars to my scenes using foam dots.

I added another sentiment to the inside of the card. I had a small car left over, so I adhered that also. Overall, I really like this card.

Stamps Used: Lawn Fawn’s Happy Village, Life is Good, Dad + Me, Lovable Legends, Happy Trails, Woodgrain Backdrops, Penelope’s Blossoms, and Home for the Holidays

Dies Used: Lawn Fawn’s Scalloped Box Card Pop Up

Ink: Lawn Fawn’s Forget Me Not, Jalapeno, Noble Fir, Jet Black, and Soot

Hope you enjoyed the card!

Fingerprint Birtday

April 21, 2018

When I was using the Simon Says Stamp Fingerprint Doodles stamp set on another card, I thought of this design. This time I made it a birthday card, because you can never have enough birthday cards.

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card with a white card base. Using my MISTI, I stamped a pattern of fingerprint on the card front. I used four different colors of ink; Lawn Fawn’s Butter, Peachy Keen, Moonstone, and Minty Fresh. I wanted the color placement to look random.

Once all the fingerprints were stamped, I added the animal outlines. I used Lawn Fawn’s Deep Sea ink for this.

I had a small cross stitched frame in my stash, so I used the Minty Fresh ink to color it to match the card. I stamped the fish and sentiment on a scrap of white car stock. I adhered the panel to the frame and popped everything up with foam tape.

Fingerprint Congrats

April 21, 2018

This card was inspired by the current Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Let’s Doodle. I do not like my own doodling but I love the look of Simon Says Stamp’s Fingerprint Doodles stamps.  I added the anniversary sentiment on the inside so I could send it to friends who are celebrating their anniversary.

Extra Details:  I began this card by die cutting a cross stitched rectangle from some smooth white card stock. I stamped the two of the fingerprint stamps in colored inks. I added the doodles on top with black ink. Using the same ink, I added the sentiment. I choose the small sentiment so the card would be super clean and simple. I added a small peach heart between the cats. I used a Sharpie Pen to doodle my own heart on the colored heart. I adhered this panel to the card front with some foam tape.

I added the happy anniversary sentiment to the inside of the card with a trio of colored hearts. I drew my own black hearts on these also.

Keep Calm and Be Hoppy

April 21, 2018

I made this card for my co teacher. We were having a rough week at school and I felt she could use a pick me up. This is also the first card I made with the Pivot Pop Up die. I really love this die. It is easy to use and makes a really big impact.

Size:  Vertical top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card with a top fold white card base. Using grey ink, I stamped a wood grain pattern on the front and inside of the card.

Next, I die cut the Pivot Pop Up Die Pieces. I also die cut some cross stitched rectangles. I used these rectangles to create the pieces for the front focal panel. I used two shades of blue card stock and some green card stock. Using double sided tape I adhered all of the pieces together to create my scenes for both the front and side of the card.  I used the same double sided tape to adhere the scenes to the card base

I stamped the sentiments on my card. My black ink pad is very dry and it shows. However, I did not use my Misti so I went with the distressed look.

I stamped the images from Toadally Awesome on some white card stock. I used Prismacolor pencils to color everything in. I fussy cut out tall of the images leaving a small white border.  Lastly, I adhered all of the images to the two scenes and the card was finished

March 2018 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit Cards

April 15, 2018

I am finally getting around to blogging the cards I made with the Simon Says Stamp March 2018 Card Kit. I loved this kit and made a bunch of cards. These are the cards I made using the papers and stickers mostly.

Rabbit Cards

April 15, 2018

Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge this week is to be inspired by mythology or a story. I choose Peter Rabbit, because it is spring and I have been itching to use this stamp set. In the end I made two similar cards. I used the Simon Says March 2018 Card Kit.

Card Two

Details

Size:  A2 cards

Extra Details:  I began these cards by stamping the rabbits and carrots on smooth white card stock. I used Prismacolor pencils to add the shading. I fussy cut out the images leaving a small white border.

For the first card, I found a mint die cut circle I had left over from another project and adhered one rabbit and a carrot. I stamped the sentiment in a grey ink. I choose a kraft card base, but felt it was very plain. I stamped the carrot image all over the card base with a brown ink. Then, I adhered the circle and rabbit to the card front.  Lastly, I added a white pom-pom for the bunny’s tail.

For the second card, I covered a white card base with a piece of patterned paper from the Simon Says Stamp Match 2018 card kit. I used a crossed stitched rectangle die to cut the paper to the correct size. I added a small strip of a second patterned paper as a ledge for my bunny to sit on. I adhered the bunny and added the pom-pom tail. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on some white card stock and die cut it with a banner die.

Church Snow Globe Shaker

April 15, 2018

I need a card for a baptism and a card for a first communion within the next few weeks. I struggled with these cards; I do not own any stamps that I thought really went well with the events. So I got creative. I like the way the cards turned out. I made two of the same card. Only one is pictured in this post.

Size:  Vertical top fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card by die cutting a panel of white card stock and dry embossing it with a Darice embossing folder.

I stamped the images on a separate panel of white card stock and using Prismacolor pencils to color everything in. Then, I pulled out the die cutting machine again. I die cut the snow globe that I stamped. I used light blue card stock for the back of the snow globe. Light green stock was used for the grassy hill. I also die cut some clear plastic and fun foam so I could turn my snow globe into a shaker card. Everything else, I fussy cut out.

I adhered everything together using double sided tape. I add some beads and sequins to the snow globe before I adhered the light blue panel. I used pink sequins because both cards are for little girls.

2018 Cookie Grad

April 15, 2018

One of my co-workers had a son graduating from high school this year. This is the card I made for her to give to him. I used the school colors of green, white and black to make the card more personal.

Size:  Vertical side fold A2 card

Extra Details:  I began this card by creating a card base form some green card stock. I used the same cardstock to die cut the Pivot Pop Up pieces as well.

Using dark green ink, I added the 2018’s to the front of the card. I used the same ink to add the cookies, and hats to the inside of the card as well. I used white pigment ink to add the dashed lines to the pop up panel. I plan on having the cookie “throw” his hat.

Using white card stock, I stamped the cookies, hats, diploma, letters and numbers. I used Primsacolor pencils to add color where needed. I used the matching die to cut out the letters and numbers and I fussy cut out everything else.

While I had the die cutting machine out, I also cut two white stitched rectangles for the inside of the card, one small white stitched rectangle for the pop up panel and one black stitched rectangle for the front of the card. I found some silver glitter paper in my stash, that I die cut the word congrats from.

Then I began assembling the card. I used liquid glue, double sided tape, and just a little bit of foam tape on the cookie on the front of the card. Overall I really like this card and I know my co-workers will also.

Stamps Used:  Lawn Fawn’s Smart Cookie, Quinn’s Capital ABC’s, Quinn’s 123s, Toadally Awesome, and Sweet Smiles

Dies Used: Lawn Fawn’s Large Cross Stitched Rectangle Stackables, Small Stitched Rectangle Stackables, Quinn’s Capital ABCs, Quinn’s 123s and Pivot Pop Up dies

Loved Boots

April 10, 2018

I wanted to play with no line coloring when I made this card. This image from Simon Says Stamp is beautiful and so much fun to color.

Extra Details:  I stamped the image on a panel of kraft card stock with a very light ink. I used Primascolor pencils to color everything in.

When I was done coloring I added a sentiment in brown ink. I thought that black ink would contrast too much with the coloring.

I trimmed the panel a little on each side and adhered it to a white card base.  I really love the way this card turned out.

Rainbow Easter Bunnies

April 10, 2018

These are the Easter cards I made to send to friends and family. I had a bunch of water color paper scraps to use up, so I decided to play with my Distress Inks. Unfortunately, I made these cards over a month ago and can’t remember which colors I used on which cards.

Details

Size:  A2 card and 4.25” square cards

Extra Details: I began these cards by white heat embossing the small egg image all over a bunch of panels of water color paper. I used three colors of Distress Ink on each panel to create some rainbow backgrounds. I don’t remember which colors I used on each panel because I made all of these over a month ago.  After the ink was dry, I flicked some water on each piece to create some interest. I adhered each panel to a colored card base.

For the sentiment, I die cut some small cross stitched rectangles and stamped the sentiment on each. I used one of the Distress Inks to water color the edges of each rectangle.

I stamp and colored the bunny images on some white card stock. I used Prismacolor pencils to add some shading to the bunnies. I fussy cut the bunnies out right on the black line. I painted the edges with a black marker to hide any cutting errors. Lastly, I adhered the bunnies with a Mini Action Wobble Spring to the card front.
